ABOUT THE URBAN INTERVENTION

From 3 p.m. — 4 p.m. on June 3rd, 2017

I’ve been vegetable gardening in downtown Ottawa for about seven years. I started on a balcony in Centretown with garbage pails and storage tubs. I am now beginning my first season at my own house in Lowertown in a small front yard with a raised bed. I like to garden as a way to feed myself that may be better for the planet than factory farming (or is it?). I also love to watch things grow and the beauty they bring to my home.

I’m not an expert on gardening but I’ve learned a few things over time – especially about making good use of small spaces. You are invited to come learn about my garden. You are also more than welcome to share your own experiences with urban gardening. Maybe you have some tips about raised beds to share with me!

Location: 213 Guigues Ave.

These materials will be part of my intervention:
